DUBUQUE, Iowa – In a strong display to open the 2025-26 season, the University of Wisconsin-Platteville wrestling team took third of six teams at the University of Dubuque's Jim Fox Invite.
Sophomore
Kain Killmer stacked up three major decisions to claim the 197-pound title while 13 Pioneer placed on Saturday afternoon inside the Stoltz Sports Center.
After back-to-back major decisions in his first two matches (15-5, 13-4), Killmer finished with a 14-2 major over Sasha Boulton of Loras in the championship match.
Freshman
Luke Kamish made quite the entrance into his collegiate career with a second place finish at 149-pounds. Kamish's day was highlighted with a 13-5 major decision in the semifinals over No. 9 ranked Chase Fiser of Loras.
Also taking second place was junior
Chris Karbash at 125 pounds. After a bye, Karbash pinned Lennon Ewert of Loras (4:13) to advance to the title match.
Junior 285
Jackson Kirsch was the fourth Pioneer to advance to the title match in their weight class. Kirsch pinned his first opponent (2:02) and won in the semifinals 12-6 to second place after a 14-3 major decision.
