Two Pioneers Collect All-American Honors On Day Three Of National Championships

ROCHESTER, N.Y. – On the final day of the 2023 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championships on Saturday, the University of Wisconsin-Platteville track and field team tallied a pair of All-Americans in junior Daniel Inyang and senior Justin Eichler.

Junior Daniel Inyang posted a leap of 2.02m (6' 7.50") to finish in a three-way tie for sixth in the high jump and earn All-American honors at his first NCAA Championships. After posting a personal best just over a week ago at the UW-La Crosse Final Qualifier to secure his trip to New York, Inyang matched the second-best mark of his career to become an All-American. Across his junior season, Inyang reached at least 2.00m five times during the outdoor campaign and posted five individual victories in the high jump.

After being named an All-American in the discus on Thursday, senior Justin Eichler placed seventh in the hammer on Saturday afternoon to earn the recognition for a second time at the meet. Eichler posted a mark of 58.34m (191' 5") on his fifth throw to collect his second top-eight finish at the outdoor championships after placing fifth a year ago. The senior concludes the year with the Pioneers program record in the hammer throw of 62.58m (205' 4") which he reached at the WIAC Outdoor Championships in early May.
