BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – On the first day of the NCAA DIII Indoor Track and Field Championships hosted by Birmingham Southern, two members of the University of Wisconsin-Platteville men's track and field team competed in the weight throw, with senior Justin Eichler earning All-American honors.
Eichler placed eighth, tossing a mark of 18.67m (60' 11.25") on his third throw of the morning. The Mukwonago native was the highest WIAC finisher at the championships, placing ahead of Aiden Williams of UW-La Crosse (18.51m, 10th) and Yakob Ekoue (18.21m, 12th).
Senior Ben Veverka finished 19th overall in the event with a throw of 17.08m (56' 00.50").
Sophomore Brenna Noon will compete in the shot put on the second day of the championships tomorrow. The event is scheduled to begin at 2 p.m.
