JANESVILLE, Wis. – Junior Markie Ash and senior Cortney Olson finished in the top 10 of nearly 60 golfers to guide the University of Wisconsin-Platteville's women's golf team to a sixth place finish at the UW-Whitewater one-day Spring Invite at the Riverside Golf Course.
Ash took eighth place tallying 80 strokes which was just six over the first-place finishers. Olson tied for ninth place with 81 strokes and a season best. Also finishing in the top 25 was junior Emily Veenhuis with score of 88 strokes to tie for 25th. Freshmen Elizabeth Roodhouse (98 strokes) and Josie Alm (99 strokes) rounded out the Pioneers' team with 44th and 45th place scores.
Overall, the Pioneers totaled a team score of 347 strokes for the sixth place finish out of 10 teams. UW-Whitewater finished first overall with a team score of 308 strokes.
The Pioneers will return to action next Friday, April 30 for day one of the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Championship (presented by Culver's).
