PLATTEVILLE, Wis. —The University of Wisconsin-Platteville softball team competed in the PFX Spring Games in Clermont, Florida Saturday, March 19 through Wednesday, March 23, where they went 0-10 to start the season.
The spring games brought teams from all over the country to Florida, where the Pioneers faced competitors from Buffalo State in New York, Williams College of Massachusetts and a number of teams from the Chicago region.
The young team, consisting of three seniors, three juniors, three sophomores and eight freshmen, gained valuable experience and team camaraderie on the trip, and will begin northern games next week, starting with Loras College on Wednesday and beginning Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference play on Saturday, April 9 at UW-Stevens Point.
The Pioneers return to action for a doubleheader on Wednesday, March 30 at 3:00 p.m. against Loras in Dubuque, Iowa.
