Pioneers fall in pair of duals at Loras

DUBUQUE, Iowa  -- The University of Wisconsin-Platteville wrestling team lost both of its duals at Loras College today, falling 29-14 to St. John's and 36-3 to Loras.

Against St. John's, Cole Ferguson started the dual off with a technical fall (16-0) over the Johnnies' Alex Rod at 125 pounds.

At 165, Trenton Larson secured an 8-4 decision over SJU's Brandon Seppelt.

174-pounder Dylan DeShane followed up Larson with an overtime victory (10-8) over SJU's Teddy Erickson.

Bryant Etherton also won an overtime decision, his a 4-2 win in triple overtime at 197 pounds.

Larson picked up the Pioneers lone win against Loras via decision.

The Pioneers travel to UW-La Crosse on Saturday for the WIAC Championships. Wrestling begins at 9 a.m.
