UW-Platteville in 19th After Day One of Illinois Wesleyan Fall Classic

The University of Wisconsin-Platteville women's golf team is in 19th place after Saturday's opening round of the 2012 IWU Fall Classic at Ironwood Golf Club in Normal, Illinois.

The Pioneers shot a first round 358 to trail co-leaders William Woods and Wittenberg, who shot a round of 309. The top individual for UW-Platteville is senior Kellsey Welter, who is tied for 29th after posting an 82. The individual leader is Myriam Hassan of William Woods, who shot a +1, 73.

Just a stroke back of Welter is freshman Taylor Egnarski, who shot an 83 and is tied for 38th. Senior Kelsey Lieving is 96th after posting a 94 and sophomore Katie Gregorich is in 108th after a 99. To round out the lineup for the Pioneers, Stacy Heiling is tied for 114th with a 107.

Sunday's final round gets underway with a 9 a.m. shotgun start.
