The University of
Wisconsin-Platteville wrapped up its participation in the 2011
Jekyll Island Women's Collegiate Invitational with a 13th-place
finish.
The Pioneers were 14th after the
first two rounds and moved into 13th out of 21 teams in Sunday's
final round.
UW-Platteville was led by
junior Ellyn Subak, who finished 55th after posting a
team-best final round of 84 for a 261 (89-88-84). Right behind her
was sophomore Kellsey Welter, who shared 56th with a 262
(84-84-94).
Next, sophomore Kelsey
Lieving was 64th with a 266 (90-89-87), senior Tricia
Pawelski shared 76th with a 275 (97-90-88) and
junior Kerrie Liske was tied for 90th with a 283
(95-95-93).
Methodist cruised to the team title
with a final round 311 for a 54-hole total of 951 (324-316-311) for
a 23-stroke victory. They were led by individual champion Kelsie
Carralero, who recorded nine birdies with a 229 (85-74-70) for a
one-stroke victory over Emily Bachert of Centre College and Hayley
Milbourn of Amherst Collge.
The Pioneers will return to action
closer to home in its next tournament, April 16-17 when they travel
to Illinois Wesleyan.
