UW-Platteville put on a strong
showing on its own home course, finishing third among six teams at
the closely contested UW-Platteville Invitational Saturday and
Sunday.
The Pioneers held a two-shot lead
over UW-Whitewater after the first day, but the Warhawks surged to
the team title on Sunday. UWW finished with a 706, followed by
UW-Stevens Point 719, UWP 722, Carroll 754, UW-Oshkosh 786, and
Clarke 813.
Three Pioneers placed in the top
eight for Coach Peter Reif. Kellsey Welter finished sixth with a
176, Kelsey Lieving seventh at 177, and Tricia Pawelski eighth at
178. Ellyn Subak shot 191 to tie for 16th, and Kerrie Liske was
20th with a 196. Helen Wilson, playing as an individual, finished
27th.
