The UW-Platteville women's golf team took second place out of
five schools at the UW-Whitewater Invitational Friday at the
Riverside Golf Course in Janesville.
The host Warhawks won their own meet with 331 strokes, while the
Pioneers scored 354, one shot better than Carroll. In their last
outing, Carroll finished 44 strokes ahead of UWP. UW-Oshkosh scored
375, and St. Norbert carded a 376.
Kellsey Welter led the Pioneers with an 80, the Pioneers' best
round of the season. She tied for second on the par-73 course.
Tricia Pawelski and Kelsey Lieving each shot 89 to tie for 16th,
while Kerrie Liske was 27th with a 96, and Ellyn Subak 35th with
104.
UW-Whitewater, Carroll, and UW-Oshkosh will join UWP, Clarke and
UW-Stevens Point in the UW-Platteville Invitational Saturday and
Sunday. Play begins Saturday at 10 a.m. and Sunday at 8:15 a.m
