Pioneers fall to #2 and #11 in St. Louis

ST. LOUIS, MO. - The University of Wisconsin-Platteville went 0-3 over the weekend in the WashU Invitational including losses to #2 Colorado College and #11 Washington University.

The Pioneers fell to #2 Colorado College 25-11, 25-17, 25-20 on Friday night and on Saturday had losses to #11 Washington University 25-14, 25-14, 25-20 and Augustana 25-16, 25-20, 25-21.

Against Colorado College, CJ Johnson led the team with 20 assists and 2 service aces. Madie Sailors tallied 10 digs in the match.

Kaite Asche and Hailey Youngren were the top performers against Washington University. Asche had five kills and no errors on 15 total attacks (.333) while Youngren had nine kills on 18 total attacks (.389).

The Augustana match was competitive but ultimately the team could not produce enough offensively. Olivia Kudronowicz led the team with 14 digs and added 10 kills. Johnson finished with 20 assists and 12 digs. Sailors had 12 digs, six assists and two service aces.

After the weekend, the Pioneers have a record of 7-14.

UW-Platteville Volleyball hosts UW-Whitewater at 7:00 PM on Tuesday, October 9th at Bo Ryan Court. Tuesday is Kids Night (free admission for kids) and Childhood Cancer Awareness Night.
